Miami Jewish Health Systems Appoints Mary Jane Damavandi, RN, BSN, MSHSA, As Director Of Nursing

MIAMI – August 18, 2014 – Miami Jewish Health Systems recently appointed Mary Jane “MJ” Damavandi to Director of Nursing. With a distinguished career in nursing at the staff, managerial and executive levels in South Florida hospitals, Ms. Damavandi was first brought into Miami Jewish Health Systems as a consultant in late 2013 and soon asked to join the organization’s staff full-time.

In her new role, Ms. Damavandi will be responsible for the daily oversight of the nursing department that cares for more than 400 long-term care residents, patients, families and caregivers each day.

Prior to joining Miami Jewish Health Systems, Ms. Damavandi held the position of Chief Nursing Officer at Florida Medical Center where she was responsible for daily operations of the nursing organization.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University in addition to Master’s of Science in Health Service Administration from Barry University.

Her passion for nursing goes beyond her daily responsibilities, as MJ is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, American College of Health Care Executives and American Nurses Association as well as previously on the advisory board at Florida International University and Kaiser College.
