Miami Jewish Health’s Board of Directors for 2022-2023

November 29, 2022

Miami Jewish Health recently announced its 2022-2023 Board of Directors. M. John Richard was elected Chairman of the Board (succeeding Jeffrey Rittenberg) and Ronald Fieldstone was named Vice Chairman. In addition, the Board also welcomes new Directors Dr. Susan Baker and Patrick Martin.

Chairman Richard and the Board would also like to thank recent retirees from the Board, Jane Kahn Jacobs (19 years) and Carol Lang (7 years), for their dedicated service to Miami Jewish Health.

Prior to his installation as Chairman, Richard served on Miami Jewish Health’s board for the past 12 years. He previously served as President and CEO of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. During his tenure, the Arsht Center sparked downtown Miami’s cultural transformation, while also earning national and local recognition for its innovative offerings and community-focused programs. Previously, Richard was the Executive Vice President and COO at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).

“Having the opportunity to work with a distinguished group of Directors and help guide the growth of such an integral organization like Miami Jewish Health is a great honor,” said Richard. “Whether pulling on our Board’s experience in healthcare, real estate, or community enrichment and relations, we all share in the goal to make sure Miami Jewish Health’s legacy and service to South Floridians remains strong.”

New Vice Chairman Ronald Fieldstone is currently a partner at Saul Ewing LLC. Fieldstone is widely recognized as one of the State’s top real estate attorneys, with deep expertise in commercial real estate and land-use and development law.

Dr. Susan Baker is the Director of Laboratories for North Shore Medical Center and Florida Medical Center. She offers the board more than 35 years of healthcare experience working in various hospital and care settings.

Patrick Martin is currently a shareholder at Ogletree Deakins. For more than two decades he has been a litigator for employment and labor law. He is also a current member of the Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center and former director of the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce.

“John’s dedicated service and deep experience guiding community-focused organizations will be a tremendous benefit to our Board under his leadership,” said Jeffrey Freimark, president and CEO of Miami Jewish Health. “With the evolving healthcare landscape, John and our Board are focused on expanding Miami Jewish Health’s ability to offer accessible, leading healthy aging care to South Florida’s diverse population.”

Miami Jewish Health’s Board of Directors provides strategic oversight and advises the organization as it strengthens its position as a leading source of healthy aging through its innovative continuum of care. The 10-member board also works closely with the Miami Jewish Health Foundation and its Chairman, Jay Solowsky, to assist in their philanthropic and fundraising efforts to support visionary clinical care and enrichment programs.
