Florida PACE Centers by Miami Jewish Health was named Organization of the Year by the Florida PACE Providers Association (FPPA) at its 2026 Annual Conference, held June 8-9 in Tampa. The award recognizes a PACE provider that demonstrates exceptional creativity, leadership, and measurable impact in improving the quality, efficiency, and reach of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) across the state.
More than 150 health care leaders, policymakers, and industry professionals gathered for the conference, where FPPA presented its inaugural awards program. Florida PACE Centers was selected as Organization of the Year from among the state’s licensed PACE providers for its innovation in clinical care, its measurable impact on participant health, and its long-standing commitment to South Florida’s seniors and family caregivers.
A Legacy of Leadership in Florida
Florida PACE Centers opened its first site in 2003, making it the oldest and most experienced PACE provider in the state, with a background exclusively specialized in geriatric health and elder care. Since then, the organization has grown to serve participants across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, helping thousands of eligible seniors receive coordinated medical care and support services so they can remain safely in their own homes rather than moving to a nursing facility.
That depth of experience and consistent focus on the PACE model’s founding mission reinforce Florida PACE Centers standing as a leader in excellence within the state’s growing PACE network.
Recognized Excellence Across the PACE Community
The FPPA Organization of the Year Award is the latest in a series of recognitions for Florida PACE Centers. In October 2025, Florida PACE Centers Miami earned Pioneer Navigator status from the Alliance for PACE Innovation and Quality (APIQ) under its PACE Recognition Program. The distinction reflects the organization’s development and implementation of a performance measurement system built around four core domains:
- Building a diverse, skilled, and supported workforce
- Ensuring efficient and sustainable use of resources
- Expanding access to meet community needs
- Delivering person-centered care that enhances lives
Together, the APIQ recognition and the FPPA Organization of the Year Award reflect a consistent, external validation of the same qualities: a genuine commitment to measurable quality improvement and workforce investment, not just strong outcomes in a single area.
Innovation and Measurable Impact
Among the initiatives that distinguished Florida PACE Centers is its Healthy Hearts Program. The program pairs 36 therapy sessions with 18 educational group sessions focused on lifestyle changes that support heart health, with participants selected by the PACE care team.
The results have been remarkable. Before beginning the program, participants rated their overall wellness at an average of 4.25 on a scale of zero to 10. Four months later, that number more than doubled to 8.75, with five of eight participants reporting improved endurance and mobility. Additionally, participants’ mean score on the Mini-Mental State Exam rose from 21.5 (indicating mild cognitive impairment), to 25.4 (within the normal cognition range).
The Healthy Hearts Program reflects exactly the kind of forward-thinking solution the Organization of the Year Award was designed to recognize: a locally developed model, adapted to participant needs, with clear evidence of improved health outcomes and potential to be replicated at PACE centers throughout Florida.

Beyond clinical outcomes, Florida PACE Centers has continued to invest in the everyday experience of its participants with a wide variety of events, activities, and day trips.
These efforts speak directly to PACE’s founding mission: prioritizing the dignity, independence, and wellbeing of the older adults it serves, not just their clinical metrics.
